What is e-business?

P rospect Technologies uses a broad definition that e-business is simply the use of the Internet and the Web to better support any current manner of doing business. Any business. Your business!

CLICK HERE for Prospect Technologies' Home Page! While e-business or Electronic Commerce means different things to many different people in assorted industries, it usually includes all the tools, techniques, and processes to enable business to be done electronically. The idea is that the electronic way of doing business should be better, faster, more efficient, and . . . hopefully! . . . more economical than the current method of conducting commerce.

As many of you know, e-business and Electronic Commerce are being done every day over the Internet. Whether it be downloading anti-virus software from a ftp site, ordering a pizza, purchasing some articles or books, or receiving IRS forms, commerce and business is now beginning to take on a paperless electronic flavor on the Web.

One of Prospect Technologies specialties is to work with its customers to enable them to perform their BUSINESS using the tools and techniques of the Web and the Internet. While this varies customer by customer, Prospect Technologies has been able to help its customers improve their business or missions by using the Internet and the World Wide Web. To accomplish this the firm taps into its DataTiger, TigerEye, and total IT Support Customer Support capabilities.

In addition, the firm has been able to use these "tools" to create e-products such as DIGIDOQ and the Digital Courtroom.

What are the demographics of the users of the Web and the Internet? How does this help my firm / agency doing e-business? While studies and surveys are being done all the time, it clearly appears that this new medium is a prime and growing market frequented by a sophisticated, educated, affluent, and influential audience. [ Look here for a more in-depth source of information on the demographics of the Internet and the Web.]
