Washington, DC October 1997 -- Prospect Technologies announced today that it has won major extension on its existing contract with the US Coast Guard to support the Product Assurance Division. This organization focuses on product recalls and defect monitoring for the recreational boating public.

In its first initiative, Prospect Technologies will put on-line the Boating Recall and Manufacturer Identification Database [MIC]. This databases not only has information on manufacturer recalls but also boating defect data. This will involve establishing a new database for this information and making it available via the Internet and the Web. This data will now be available to the general public, State Boating executives, and other government agencies.
