Prospect Technologies wins contract with the
Federal Maritime Commission to develop Web based Internet Service Contract Filing System.

Washington, DC April 1999 -- Prospect Technologies, a Washington, DC based advanced computer technology and Internet firm, announced today that it has won a contract with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) to develop an Web based Internet Service Contract filing system. This system, which will utilize the latest Web and Internet technology, will replace an old legacy system that requires users to dial into a computer to create all of their filings.

This new system, which will begin to be activated on May 1, 1999, will allow the filers of service contracts to perform this operation easily and efficiently from his / her own PC using a Web browser and Internet dial-up access.

Some of the features of this system include:

  • Real-time statistics on the number, date, and type of contracts filed.

  • An on-line tutorial on how to use the new system.

  • Ability to file quickly and securely upload via the Web new contracts and amendments.

  • Ability to file notices to amend multiple contracts with a single amendment.

  • Ability for each filer to view his / her own upload directory.

  • Immediate / online confirmation of the upload.

  • FMC management screens which allow for complete Boolean searches as well as the viewing each filer’s directory.
