Washington, DC June 1997 -- In order to support its expanding client base and provide leading
edge technology for its existing customers, Prospect Technologies has established a "server farm" at
Digex in Beltsville, MD. Digex, a Tier I Internet provider gives Prospect Technologies the 7 x 24 glass room support. This also includes double back-up power, engineers, as well as on-site capabilities for "hot swaps" and repair.
In this state of the art facility, Prospect Technologies will install a series of dual, high speed
Pentium chip
servers with 6+ gig HD and ultrawide SCSI controllers. It also will have over 220 Megs of
RAM per chip and have 10-megabit access to the Internet. Running on this server will be Windows NT 4.0 with MS IIS 3.0, Eudora World Mail, and 128 / 40 bit SSL encryption to support secure transactions.
It is expected that as new servers are added to the "server farm", ultra-fast mirroring will be established to not only balance load capacity but also offer quick recovery incase of hardware or software problems.
