Washington, DC - It was announced today that the Georgetown Business and Professional Association (GBPA) has signed a contract with Prospect Technologies to develop a *NEW* e-business communications portal to support the on-going activities of the association. This new Web site will be located at georgetown.bz and will become part of the new image and brand for this orginization.

The GBAPA, formed in 1976, seeks to become the premier business and professional organization in Georgetown by embodying the spirit of this nationally and internationally renowned historic neighborhood with its robust business and professional community. It expected that this e-business communications portal will help the GBAPA better position itself to help attract new member businesses as well as visitors who appreciate both aspects of what could be called ‘America’s Living Museum’.

• The ability for businesses to join and pay for memberships and events on-line;
• The ability for the GBAPA to see who has joined and / or paid for an event on-line;
• The ability for the non-technical staff to update / modify / change the Web site;
• The ability to include an e-mail Blast capability that would e-mail periodic messages to an extended mailing list drawing folks to the Web site for more information;
• Much more friendly / informative Web site w/ easy to navigate buttons;
• Have the GBPA Web site provide an automatic simple Web site for members if they do not already have a Web presence; and
• Act as a platform / forum / portal for members to communicate w/ the GBPA.

It is expected that this Web site, to be located at georgetown.bz, will be brought on-line during the fall of 2006.
